Famous for its breathtaking alpine scenery and expansive terrain, Lake Louise Ski Resort offers something for every level of skier and snowboarder, from gentle groomers to legendary back bowls and powder-filled chutes. Located approximately 60 km from Banff and the Juniper Hotel, the resort is around a 45-minute drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway.

Known for its long season, high elevation, and incredible snow conditions, Sunshine Village stretches across a valley spanning Alberta and British Columbia with beginner hills, challenging terrain, four parks, and spectacular Rocky Mountain views. From the Juniper Hotel, Sunshine Village is located about 20 km away and can be reached in roughly 25 minutes by car via the Trans-Canada Highway.

Just up the road from the Juniper Hotel and 15 minutes from downtown Banff, Mount Norquay combines convenient access with a laid-back local feel, offering night skiing, terrain parks, and family-friendly runs overlooking the Bow Valley. Its smaller size and quick access make it ideal for shorter ski days, beginners, or families looking for a relaxed mountain experience close to town. Norquay is also one of the few resorts in the region to offer night skiing and tubing during the winter season. Located only 9 km from the Juniper Hotel, the scenic drive takes approximately 15 minutes via Mount Norquay Road.

For more than ten thousand years, Cave and Basin National Historic Site has held deep significance for Indigenous Peoples – a connection that continues today. In 1883, railway workers Frank McCabe and brothers Tom McCardell and William McCardell discovered the thermal springs, setting in motion events that led to the creation of Banff National Park – Canada’s first national park.

Land Acknowledgement

We welcome you to Banff and the Bow Valley. This has long been a place where early peoples came in peace. There is deep and enduring memory of this valley held by Ktunaxa, Secwepemc, Métis, Tsuu’tina, Mountain Cree, Blackfoot, and Stoney Nakoda peoples. We acknowledge both the Treaty of 1877, Treaty Seven, and the Treaty of 1895 between the salmon and buffalo peoples. We are grateful to live here and live together with all our relations.
