What is the best time to visit?
Sunrise breakfasts and sunset dinners each offer a unique experience. Many guests particularly enjoy visiting on a winter’s afternoon for sunset, when the mountain views are at their most dramatic and pink alpenglow can be seen on the summits.
Which room has the best mountain views?
Many of our room types offer mountain views and are listed as ‘Mountain View’, but the outlook can vary depending on the room category and location within the hotel. Check the room descriptions and gallery for the best indication of the view you can expect.
Are e-bikes included in amenities?
Yes, summer and winter E-bikes are included under the amenity fee for the first three hours of rental. That’s plenty of time to get you there and back on the Bow Valley Parkway, to and from Lake Minnewanka, or around Banff!
Are accessible rooms available?
Yes, accessible accommodations are available. View the Queen Accessible room or learn more about Accessibility at the Juniper Hotel & Bistro.
Are children welcome at the hotel?
Yes, children are welcome at the hotel and the Juniper offers several Family-Friendly rooms. Search ‘Best for: Families’ on the Stay page.
Can I request a specific view, floor or other special request?
We’ll do our best to accommodate special requests, including preferred floors, or room locations. Mountain View rooms are listed as such, whereas Forest View rooms do not face the iconic Juniper view. While requests cannot be guaranteed, we encourage guests to let us know their preferences before arrival.
Can I request an early check-in or late checkout?
Early check-in and late checkouts are subject to availability. There is no charge, but we cannot guarantee they are available. Please contact

As we are located in Banff National Park, park passes are required to be displayed in your vehicle. Park passes can be purchased at the park gates or in downtown Banff at the Information Centre.
What is your cancellation policy?
Low Season (January 2nd – June 1st, October 16th- December 19th):
• Standard, Deluxe and King Suite room categories may be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours ahead of check-in. Penalty for cancellations within the 72-hour period is a charge of one night room & tax.
• Cabin and Three Bedroom Suite reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 7 days ahead of check-in. Penalty for cancellations within the 7-day period is a charge of one night room & tax.
• Advanced Purchase rates cannot be cancelled – pre-paid credit may be transferred to an alternative date, new nightly room rate will apply.
High Season (June 1st – October 15th):
• Standard, Deluxe and King Suite room categories may be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours ahead of check-in. Penalty for cancellations within the 72-hour period is a charge of one night room & tax.
• Cabin reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 14 days ahead of check-in. Penalty for cancellations within 14 days of arrival is the total room and tax for the entire reservation.
• Three Bedroom Suite reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 30 days ahead of check-in. Penalty for cancellations within 30 days of arrival is the total room and tax for the entire reservation.
These policies apply to standard reservations only. Promotional rates may be subject to special terms and conditions.
Holiday Season (December 20th – Jan 5th):
• Reservations in all room categories may be cancelled without penalty up to 14 days before check-in. Penalty for cancellations within 14 days of arrival is the total room and tax for the entire reservation.

Our room categories vary by size, bed configuration, view, single-room, multi-room suite or cabin, and included features. How do I reserve e-bikes & adventure gear?
Visit the Front Desk to reserve your e-bikes. The first three hours are included as part of your amenity fee – our way of supporting a greener Banff by helping guests leave the car behind. Availability is limited, so we recommend visiting the Front Desk early in your stay to reserve yours. Our team can also book full-day or stay-length rentals from adventure companies in town.

Not at all! The Juniper Bistro welcomes both locals and visitors, whether you’re staying at the Juniper Hotel or simply looking for a memorable dining experience in Banff.

The hot tub is available on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved. The hot tub hours are Tues – Sun 09:00 AM – 10:00 PM | Mon 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Is parking available?
Yes, complimentary parking is available for Bistro guests including Accessible designated and EV Charging spaces. Just off the highway and with plenty of spaces; the Juniper offers the easiest stress-free parking in Banff.
Is there EV Charging?
Yes, the Juniper has two EV Charging spaces included under the Amenity Fee.
What is the wifi access?
Wifi is available throughout the Hotel and Bistro and no password is required.
Are there robes in the rooms?
Yes, every Juniper room includes comfy robes. If your room is missing them, please inform Front Desk or a member of our Housekeeping team.
Is there luggage storage?
Yes, if you need to leave luggage before or after your stay please ask at the Front Desk.
What is your Smoking Policy?
The Juniper provides designated outdoor smoking areas for guests. Smoking is not permitted anywhere else on hotel property or grounds.

How far is the Juniper from downtown Banff?
Just 5 minutes from downtown Banff, guests can access the Juniper via car, bike or Juniper Shuttle (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM).

How do I get the bus?
Roam Transit Busses provide comprehensive schedules and routes connecting Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise, ensuring convenient transportation options for visitors. Take the Juniper Shuttle into Banff to connect with bus routes – ask at the Front Desk to help you plan where you need to be.

What are the best things to do in Banff?

Where can I park in town?
Parking in Banff can be difficult during peak seasons or during special events. We recommend cycling or taking the Juniper Shuttle when you can and exploring Banff car-free. From Banff you can explore the Bow Valley via Roam Transit.
When you really need to use your car, Banff Train Station offers free parking and the most spaces.
How do I get to Lake Louise & Moraine Lake?
Lake Louise is approximately 60 km from the Juniper Hotel, around a 45-minute drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway. This includes Lake Louise village, the iconic lakeshore, and Lake Louise Ski Resort.
From Lake Louise village, Moraine Lake is a further 20 minutes away. Private vehicles are not permitted on the Moraine Lake Road, so access is available only by shuttle or guided tour, including Parks Canada shuttles and private operators. Explore your options for visiting Moraine Lake here.
During the ski season, the Juniper Shuttle can take guests to downtown Banff, where public ski shuttles provide convenient connections to Sunshine Village, Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Mt Norquay. Public transit also runs to Lake Louise village, making it easy to explore the mountains without a car. Please note that Moraine Lake is closed from late fall until late spring.
Outside the ski season, Roam Transit operates regular bus services from Banff to both Lake Louise village and the Lake Louise lakeshore.

What makes Juniper Bistro different from other restaurants in Banff?
Our location offers one of Banff’s most spectacular dining backdrops, paired with a plant-rich menu that celebrates seasonality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful sourcing. The experience is designed to reflect the landscape that surrounds us.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are recommended, particularly during weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods over summer and winter. Walk-ins are always welcome when space is available.
Do you offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
Yes. We combine our Breakfast and Lunch offerings onto one Brunch Menu. Please check our current hours, as service periods and additional specials vary seasonally. We regularly update our operating hours and menus online.
Current Brunch Hours: Mon – Fri : 7:30am – 1:00pm | Sat – Sun : 7:30am – 2:00pm
Current Dinner Hours: Daily 6:00pm – 9:00pm
What type of cuisine does the Juniper Bistro serve?
The Juniper Bistro offers a seasonally inspired menu rooted in the Canadian Rockies, featuring plant-rich dishes alongside thoughtfully sourced animal proteins. Menus evolve throughout the year to reflect the seasons and the ingredients available. This cuisine is referred to as ‘New Canadian’.
Can I just stop in for drinks?
Absolutely. Whether you’d like a local craft beer, a glass of Canada’s Okanagan wine, a seasonal cocktail, or a non-alcoholic option, you’re welcome to join us for drinks and the view in the Bistro Lounge, the main Bistro, or out on the patio.
Can I request a table with a view?
We’ll do our best to accommodate seating requests whenever possible, though specific tables cannot be guaranteed.
