Explore Banff bike trails with our complimentary bikes, e-bikes, and winter fat tire bikes.
Available for guests on a first-come, first-served basis through our Front Desk.
Please note, our bikes are not mountain bikes. They are perfect for heading downtown or to Vermilion Lakes on gentle trails and paved surfaces. If you’re looking for something more adventurous, we’d be happy to connect you with local mountain bike rental options.
Trails starting from the Juniper
Cascade Ponds via the Banff Legacy Trail
The Banff Legacy trail runs 22km from Banff to Canmore. Near the entrance to Banff, the trail forks and takes riders to Cascade Ponds, a popular sunbathing and picnic spot beside Cascade Mountain. Trails from here continue past thick forests, crystal clear rivers & incredible mountain views towards Johnson Lake, Two Jack, and Lake Minnewanka.
Vermilion Lakes
For a shorter cycle, exit the forest around the Juniper and cycle across the bridge and turn right before the Fenlands. From here, a wide, flat road takes you beside the shimmering Vermilion Lakes – the lakes you can see from the Juniper.
Vermilion Lakes, the Bow Valley Parkway, and Johnston Canyon
Cycling onwards down the Vermilion Lakes road, the path takes you beneath the Trans Canada and onto the Bow Valley Parkway, an excellent place to possibly see some wildlife. Deep forest, winding roads, expansive viewpoints, and within reach of our e-bikes – Johnston Canyon.
Bow Falls along the Bow River trail
For a slower pace and one closer to the action in Banff, take the route to the Fenlands, past the famous Banff Sign, and onto the river trail. Calm waters and tranquil woodland will guide you around the edge of Banff. Stay on the river path to climb to Surprise Corner, Tunnel Mountain or the Banff Centre of Arts and Creativity. Alternatively, cross the bridge to continue the river trail to Bow Falls. Alternate the return route with a visit to the Whyte Museum, Cave & Basin, Bear Street, or Banff Avenue.
