Arriving from Calgary or Banff downtown
The Juniper Hotel and Bistro is perched just above Banff, across the Trans-Canada Highway in the wildlife corridor at the base of Mt. Norquay.
From Calgary Airport:
- Depart Calgary International Airport. Turn left toward 19 St NE at the first traffic light.
- In about 1 kilometre turn left onto 96 Ave NE / Airport Trail NE
- In approximately 1 kilometre take the AB- 2 N ramp onto Deerfoot Trail North (also Highway 2 North)
- After approximately 4 kilometres take exit on your right onto Stoney Trail West – Alberta 201 W (new ring road; may not appear on some GPS systems)
- Follow Stoney Trail West for about 24 kilometres until you approach Trans-Canada Highway #1 West
- Exit onto Highway #1 West to Banff. Once you leave the city limits continue for about 50 minutes until you pass Canmore and reach the Banff National Park Gates where you can purchase a Park Pass
- Once you have entered the park you will drive approximately another 20 minutes to the second exit for Banff marked Norquay Road.
- At the Junction, turn right over the Texas Grate (wildlife grate) and immediately turn left onto Juniper Way.
Most guests choose to use the complementary Juniper Shuttle, or cycle, drive, or take a taxi for easy access to town.
Walking is possible, but please note the route is unmarked, includes sections without sidewalks or lighting, and can be tricky in poor weather. Two discreet gates allow pedestrians to bypass the Texas Gates (wildlife grates in the road), but the path is not signposted.
Please refer to the Walking Map below for walking directions, as Google Maps suggest walking over the Texas Grates rather than using the gates to walk around them.

Parking at the Juniper
The Juniper offers ample free paved parking, with two complimentary EV charging stations available for guests. Parking is conveniently located just steps from the Hotel, Bistro, and Forest Cabins.
Disabled parking is available on the far side of the car park closest to the Hotel and Bistro entrances.
