The Juniper Hotel & Bistro is excited to welcome, in our 3rd installment of our “Chef Series”, Canada’s most celebrated Thai chef; Angus An of Vancouver’s Maenam Restaurant. Maenam is reigning champion, as they took home the distinction of “Restaurant of The Year” in the Vancouver Magazine‘s Restaurant Awards this past year, and has held a Gold rating as Best Thai since 2009. Maenam also boasts a ranking of #32 in Canada’s 100 Best.
Angus has collaborated a special menu with Chris Irving, our Bistro General Manager and culinary director, to celebrate the start of the highly-anticipated spot prawn season. The spot prawns will be flown fresh LIVE, the day of the dinner, from our sponsoring partner, Organic Ocean Seafood, direct from the icy waters of the Pacific Ocean, into our kitchen.
The event takes place on Tuesday May 23 and will commence with a welcome reception at 6:30pm in the Juniper Bistro lounge. We will then invite everyone to sit at our communal long tables, where snacks and nibbles will await, with hopes to inspire creative conversation and friendly discussions. Angus and Chris have created a special 5 course menu, with main focus on the humble spot prawn, and showcasing Chef An’s Thai flavours!
One ticket is $125 (including tax & gratuity). This includes reception beverage and canapes, 5 course degustation menu with comprehensive, Thai inspired, beverage pairings. Menu will be released closer to date!
